I have been in the education business for over 25 years. Throughout my life, I have been an advocate seeking to uphold the rights of individuals including my own children, my general education students and my students with special needs. As a former elementary teacher and secondary English teacher, I have the expertise and insight to guide you in developing appropriate goals to help your child succeed. As a Special Education teacher I implemented protocols throughout my classroom to promote independence in my students.
Currently, as a Special Education Advocate, I represent families in their efforts to obtain FAPE (Free and Appropriate Public Education). As a paralegal I also assist in writing declarations for parties seeking to resolve custodial issues involving their children with special needs.
My experience includes advocating for children with severe disabilities, newly diagnosed ADHD and ASD. My focus is not to be an adversary of the school district but rather an ally for the family. I work diligently to create a bridge between families and the school to facilitate positive working relationships.
